MIXING CHEW-NOT

Chew-Not works as well as it does because of the thick coating that is applied. Care should be taken to thoroughly mix the contents or you will get lumps and clog the sprayer. The easiest way to mix is to get an empty pail and pour the liquid from the bottle into tile pail leaving about an inch off liquid over the white polymer. We use a 1/2 inch diameter wooden dowel to stir the contents left in the bottle. Stir well enough to get all the contents into the pail.

Fill the bottle with warm (not hot) water and pour into the pail. Stir briskly for about a minute and you should have a smooth, milk like consistency. If you are fixing more than one gallon, or want to simplify the process, buy a paint stirrer (Home Depot), and use a cordless drill for about ten seconds.

Make sure you wear safety glasses or you might get splashed. Chew-Not is like liquid plastic. Wear old clothes and be careful where you spray it.

To eliminate lumps try pouring through a kitchen strainer (screen type) into your pump sprayer.

You are ready to go. Shake the sprayer often as the polymer will settle out if it is not agitated. Don't fill the sprayer until you are ready to spray. Adjust the spray to between a wet mist and a stream. If you spray a lot, you will probably have to open the spray tip as the polymer may start to build up. If you take a break, or when you are done, empty the sprayer. As soon as you complete the job, wash the sprayer thoroughly and spray clean water through the tip.
